sticks in house

Could someone please tell me the locations of all the sticks. I am having a tough time.
You just have to wander around the house alot. Go up and down the stairs....they will appear whenever they want to (thank you mister redink). Had the same problem myself.
Hi there,,by up and down stairs,,do you mean to say that you can or 'cannot' go to the second floor. I tried to go upstairs(many times) and the only thing that happens with any of my gamepad (or keyboard) buttons is that it warps me back downstairs to the left of the fireplace. Any help on this would be appreciated.
Edit: Yes, the stairway is a 'red herring'.
Ran up+down the stairs,found a stick,,,repeat and rinse!
if you have all the sticks you may need to think about *using them* 
if you don't - do what Kat said and they seem to come - go up (get sent back) and go look around for them - if none, repeat till you get em.
