Dink has to save a town that is pestered by slimes.

Despite the fact that I detest slimes – I would rather fight a dragon then a slime – I decided to play this D-mod anyway. And it turned out to be ‘slime wise’ not so bad after all.

Storyline: There is one quest: defeat the slimes.

Map and graphics: No new graphics, apart from the title screen. The map is simple, but suits the purpose.

Music: I did not hear any.

Good: Although a tiny D-mod, it has both interaction with sprites and, of course: hence the title, some fighting. There are no screenlocks; not even on the end boss. Although I am not quite sure whether this should be considered as done on purpose and therefore good, or as something the author did not know how to script, I think it is a nice change comparing to other D-mods. This leaves you the choice to walk away from the end boss or stay and fight; no worries about loading a saved game. On the other hand; you have to get healed if you walk away because you are injured and when loading a saved game that is not necessary. Anyway, for a change, I liked playing a D-mod without screenlocks. There are enough savebots, although they are in area’s were the slimes are, so you have to be careful not to get injured while saving. But this adds in my opinion something to the adventure since the D-mod is not that big that it has subquests. There are two end bosses, that is quite unique.

Not so good: I could walk of some screens, and I got stuck on some screens. Some hardness errors with sprites that you can walk through, and the tiles do not blend. Some screens do not have any borders, which is annoying. The gameplay is real easy since there are loads of potions and golden and red hearts; you obtain those without any effort. But I think it would be more challenging if you had to do something before getting those.

Overall: A small, but nice adventure. That is, if you like slimes! Or perhaps I should say: especially when you do not like slimes, since you get the change to kill many of them.
Fit for: If you want to kick some ass, this D-mod garantees that!

23 screens, typical romp, a good fun little D-MOD that you play to enjoy. Basically Dink is on his way to somewhere, don't have a clue where but still... he's on his way to somewhere and then he meets a guy who is just standing in the middle of the road. He tells you that his village is being attacked and that you must stop him, one screen right and you're there and you see a load of dead people and some slimes, ooooh. Basic romp storyline, but well developed. Only 26 screens but has been scripted very well to keep in those 26 screens. There are goods, there are bads, and they all lie BENEATH THIS TEXT...

Strengths
---------

The typical storyline of "Something or somebody gets attacked, you must destroy them" has been developed very well and into 26 screens. I found no midis actually playing in the game, but there are 4 in the sound directory. I listened to them and liked them, simple. There are no new graphics apart from the title screen. There is lots of fighting and levelling up which I like and 2 bosses, yes 2 bosses. One you think is the slime king, and then you find out it isn't. Then one that you don't think is the slime king, and then you find out it is, simple. You start off at a reasonable level and have to level up to defeat the slimes easily. There, that's the strengths over...

Weaknesses
----------

There aren't very many bugs suprisingly, of course there are badly tiled screens however. I found the imposter slime king to be very easy to beat with the first sword you get, and the slime king easy to beat with the second sword you get. This is not always good, easy enemies means quick game. Quick game means no fun, no fun means bad game, bad game means bad review. So I will knock off a few points for being so easy to beat. The title screen has been once again cheaply made in paint which I do not like but at least it is better than the one you see in Richard's Attack. Some hardness errors, some added bugs. Simple, that's about all the weaknesses I could find though there will be more...

Overall
-------

Good D-MOD for a 5 minute fun romp. Good average storyline that is well developed later on in the game, some funny bits some not so funny bits overall a good romp for 26 screens.

Total 7.0
Grade C (Passed)

End Comment "5 minute fun killing D-MOD"

Ppretty good little romp although quite short.Everything worked
well except for one little slime who wouldn't die. Some 'freeze'
during conversations would have been better.Didn't seem to be any
music.Graphics were all from the original game.Wasn't anything to
buy but there was gold to collect anyways.
The ending was kind of dull.No 'thanks, dink' or 'you're the best,
dink'.Just 'that's all'. Still I've played worse....much,much worse.

On the top, this seems just like a "weed whack the slimes" game, so im going to give you the real deal on the Dmod.

Strengths:
The plot was easy to figure out, and the fact that you could enter houses, dungeons, etc and the people spoke (even the dead ones in a way..)
This was a real quest game, although it only seemed to be a romp, it had a storyline, a plot, and an ending, which makes any game worth playing.
The artist has a funny bone, which keeps you enertained throughout "slimes" and makes it very enjoyable, I even laughed a good bit.

Weakness:
No real music, although many games can be great without sound.
No new monsters/weapons, but if everyone held that against every game The Quest for Cheese would be a good bit more cheesy.

Overall: This is a good Dmod and I found no bugs at all, and as I said earlier the artist has some good humor, making it even more enjoyable, this deserves a straight 7!

A nice DMOD.. Well, its short, but has some fun, the only problem is that the bosses (yeah, boss|es|) are too easy to kill.... but it is relaxing DMOD, where is almoust impossible to die (unles the player is 9 years old and doesnt know how to use computer)...

I didnt seen any new graphics, and there were problems with sound (like in the search for the treasure).

Well, the plot is very easy- just kill the Slime king and the giant slime....

Map- its not bad, but there sre screen, where is grass, and in other is city with a cave ground

There is not much to do- only to kill enemies.

But it is good DMOD, download it!

I think it deserves 7.0
