dinknround's Profile
I'm old. Trust me. That is what most people on forums would think.
I'm stubborn. Some would say old school. (Translate 'old-skool' for recent generations)
I value proper spelling, proper grammar, proper capitalization, and proper punctuation. I also believe that some people fail to use the aforementioned techniques in their posts due to simple laziness, rather than a lack of education. I am abhorred by this. As well, I feel the use of numbers in place of words (2,4,8), along with words containing numbers in place of letters to seem 'cool' (l33t) is utterly ridiculous and worthy of persecution from every authority known to mankind. Personally, I have tried to incorporate abbreviations into my comments when engaged in chat rooms, just to simplify things. However, I believe the use of such tactics in forum conversations is inappropriate, so I type the words in full, and hope for the same from other people.
I greatly appreciate anyone who takes the time to use proper techniques when posting. In my opinion, that person is a 'cut above' or a 'step ahead' of the rest. Bravo.
I review almost every post I intend to make at least three times before submitting it. And after the fact, I read it again, and often modify it. (In hopes nobody saw the original.) In fact, as an example, I have worked on this profile for over half an hour.
I try to be understanding when I read posts or play D-mods from people for whom English is likely not the first language they learned. However, after a time my tolerance wears thin. This can be particularly distressing during the play of a D-mod, as the enjoyment that was possible will likely be offset by the continual language discrepancies. It becomes a distraction at that point, and I have quit a few D-mods for that reason alone. While I do appreciate the effort required to assemble and publish a D-mod (I am working on one of my own), it pains me to see a significant amount of improper language usage in the ones I have played (over 20 to date.) I apologize for making such a distinction, yet I feel this way so strongly I cannot suppress the need to express myself.
Based on this need, I willingly offer my time and effort to beta test and/or proofread or critique any D-mod anyone produces. I promise to be honest, and also to be fair. I require no payment or credit to be mentioned. And I will not mention such things myself. I suppose this is where my passion lies, and I would like to give to the community in this way. Please PM me if you would like to have something reviewed for editing.
I end this profile here. Thank you for taking the time to read about me.
Peace to all on earth.

Hi all. I have an idea for a D-mod that I would like to make for the current contest, and I find that I could use some assistance filling out the story and dialogue.
If anyone who has not already posted their intention of making a D-mod for the contest would like to be a part of this, I will welcome inquiries with the hope of finding some good plot lines and character speech/screenplay for my idea.
I do have a basic concept of how I would like the D-mod to progress, but my creativity does not flow as easily as my ability to code script, and time is short. Hence the request for assistance. July 20th is the deadline for submission.
Any co-author(s) will be credited in full for their submissions, starting via this thread once an agreement is made, and also in the completed D-mod, for all posterity to worship and idolize.
To qualify this request further, I will mention that I do have some training in scripting languages. I have read many documents here regarding DinkC and the editor, and have looked at numerous files for the same, and I feel that I can handle the technical part of assembling the D-mod myself. I will of course accept ideas and suggestions/help from others as well.
To sum this up, I need someone who is good with writing, whose creativity flows freely, and who would like to be part of a D-mod while not having to actually code anything unless they have a desire to.
Please message me here. I log on almost every day, sometimes all day (or all night, w/e.) Or if you can find me in person, just slap me and you'll have my full attention.
(Please mention your screen name in that situation
)
It's a long post. Thanks for reading.
