LOOK UPON MY DEFORMED FACE!
I've always been interested in DMODS that drive their story in a way that is different to the usual "punch things and level up" methodology, and "Trapped" performs exactly this. After Dink gets locked in a house by a real estate agent, instead of returning to him with a worthwhile offer he decides he must break out by fashioning an axe out of items that one finds scattered across the three screens that constitute the field of gameplay so that they may recreate the relevant scene out of "The Shining" (or thereabouts). Unfortunately, for whatever reason, Dink is also slowly dying of hunger and will soon starve if you don't act fast enough!

I first played "Trapped" upon release, and had to give it at least two tries before I could get out in time. With the patch however, I feel like it gives the player too much time and thus reduces any potential replay value to nil. The shelves and other items don't offer any other useful advice and should really have text lines in between the global variable values where they get used.

Anyway, I feel that "Trapped" would have worked a lot better if it had been fleshed out a bit more into a proper survival game or otherwise as a section in a much larger D-mod. As it is, it's just far too short and without variance.

This is a very short D-Mod but pretty good, I thought.

The story is that Dink is trapped inside his new house and has to escape before he dies of hunger. After the intro you need to search the house for items to help you - there is a table full of axes but they’re blunt! You have to find a way to sharpen one.

Bad things: when you go to pick up some of the things Dink doesn’t say anything, so you’re not sure if you’ve done them at all or in the right order. I’m not even sure if there is a right order, so what you’re doing could be a little confusing. Also your health keeps going down after you break out, so it’s possible to die during the ending cut scene which is a bit silly. Though Dink hasn’t eaten yet, so maybe it makes sense...

Overall, it’s fun to play if you have 5 minutes spare, and fairly well done. The English is fine seeing as it isn’t the author’s first language.

Nothing to fight, No spells, No weapons, A few spelling mistakes, Alot of grammer errors. I still don't see how or why I made a hatchet when there's a table full of them. Not really worth the download.
