Beuc recommends this rare midi editor. It allows you to record midis using your keyboard, as well as cut/copy/paste parts of the midi.

Excellent utility! I've used it numerous times to lengthen a midi file and make it loop correctly. I don't think it's very fit to record you're own midis though, but then again, only few of us can do that, right?
The only downside I could find are the missing scores.
