This is a very good file, even now that the original hard.dat file has been re-written by redink (Dan). It goes thru how to copy and paste hardness, how to edit tile hardness, and which tiles you can edit the hardness on, and those that you shouldn't. The links bewteen the tables and the graphical images are great too.

If you're thinking about new tiles for you DMOD and they require new hardness, have a read of this first.

This tutorial is a good tool for new D-mod makers, it explains a lot like how hard tiles work, how to edit hardness and what tiles it is built upon (There is a lot more).
The tutorial helped me greatly but it was confusing at first. Next to that, it is a great tool and I recommend it for new D-mod makers.

This is a very well thought out piece of work. Now, I'm not a DMOD author, at least not yet... but it is these sorts of files that help you - okay I admit it, I've played around with a DMOD, but so far it sucks, big time.

Anyway back to this file. I liked the information, it was clear and concise. The added pictures showing the numbers for each tile set were good. About the only thing I thought was missing was the pics of what that hardness looked like. But that is a small point.

As far as explaining something that had me confused goes, this file is great.
