New File: Dink Smallwood 1.08 Final
Posted by redink1 on Friday March 10th, at 05:18 PM
After confirming with Seth, I am releasing Dink Smallwood 1.08.

It's been eight-and-a-half months since Seth first contacted me about organizing a release of 1.08. We've gone through 5 Alpha Tests, 3 Beta Tests, and 7 Release Candidates... and now it's finally stable and full of useful features.

As Seth said: "A hearty thanks to you and all the dinkers who made this release possible".

If you notice anything weird, please check the 1.08 Compatibility Thread, and please post a reply if your issue isn't listed.

rabidwolf9 has summoned a new Summon Spell. It summons (*gasp*) a stone giant to fight alongside Dink. It's included in an example D-Mod, so check it out!

Awards: Catchup
Posted by redink1 on Monday March 20th, at 08:09 PM
You know how it goes... one minute you have some tomatoes in a bushel basket, and the next they're splattered all along the staircase. Then you make fries out of potatoes and find a use for the grungy ketchup.

Voting is from March 20th to March 27th.

January 2006 Download of the Month - Choose from a bunch of Windemere dev files, WinDinkedit Plus, or the Ice Orb spell.

February 2006 Download of the Month - Choose from Dink Colors, Dink Zorro, or the Video Tutorial on Warps.

I've decided to drop the 'Nomination' process this year... there didn't seem to be a good reason to do it to begin with. So the following awards are for the real Download of the Year, in each category:

2005 D-Mod of the Year

2005 Development File of the Year

2005 Miscellaneous File of the Year

A Trio of Updated D-Mods
Posted by redink1 on Wednesday March 22nd, at 07:54 PM
Carrie has updated two of her D-Mods.

In Cursed she fixed some graphical problems in 1.08's true-color mode, as well as some screematches and a nasty enemy script using up all of Dink's speed without asking.

In Red Jacket Murders she updated one jacket graphic and fixed an annoying duck sound.

Meanwhile, Simon Klaebe has updated Dink Goes Boating to prevent people from playing it in windowed / true-color mode.

Carrie has brandied about an update for Dink Zorro. She's fixed the sword-walk animations so Dink, er, Zorro, walks a lot smoother now.

New D-Mod: The Quest
Posted by Tal on Sunday March 26th, at 02:57 PM
The Quest is the quest that Srednar has submitted to us to be posted on this fine day. The Quest, should you choose to embark on it, is filled with magic, mayhem, and mystery. Um... I think.

Well, actually, I did play it. It's quite refreshing, to say the least.
