Arik, and I assume SabreTrout, have wandered through the dastardly desert of Cloud Castle 2: Scarab a few too many times more. They took their hammers of creation and fixed a handful of bugs. See the comments for a full list.

Note: The Windemere graphics pack is currently in .png format, and it is not immediately usable for Dink or D-Mods.

Updated D-Mod: Red Jacket Murders v1.4
Posted by Tal on Monday January 16th, at 01:38 PM
Update, 01/18/06: Carrie released another tiny update for the D-Mod which fixes the bats looking peculiar in true color. So download it again if you are strongly compelled to play your D-Mods in true color.

After a noble, diligent, handsome, admirable, and astonishing young man with no ego problems whatsoever uncovered the source of a Red Jacket Murders crash bug, every buddy's buddy carrie2004 came to the rescue and updated the D-Mod to squish the bug and clean up other things. You may read the comments for other information on this update.

Though the file I received was simply dubbed "UPDATED JANUARY 2006", I decided to build upon the last version and dub this version 1.4. Why? Because I might be an evil man. But I am good with numbers...

Updated D-Mod: Friends Beyond 1 v2.0
Posted by Tal on Wednesday January 18th, at 10:31 PM
After an impressive four-year absence from the Dink community, wesley has risen from the dead and taken time out of his schedule to further polish an old D-Mod of his, Friends Beyond 1. The bump to version 2.0 includes fixes for much-maligned screenlock issues and a few more miscellaneous tweaks. Try the D-Mod if you haven't before; it was a personal favorite of mine back in the day.

New Dev Utility: WinDinkEdit Plus
Posted by Tal on Wednesday January 18th, at 10:55 PM
The incredible edible gamehampe has sent along WinDinkEdit Plus, his own spin on Gary Hertel and WC's highly-praised Windows-based Dink editor. The "Plus" in the title might have you thinking this helps mathematically-challenged D-Mod developers with their basic addition skills, but that would be an unfortunate misconception; the WDE update actually fixes a few bugs and adds features such as a snap-to grid, a built-in script editor, and various other things.

New Misc File: Ice Orb Spell

Updated Site: The Dink Smallwood Solutions
Posted by Dukie on Tuesday January 31st, at 05:06 AM
We don't post news on Dink sites often here, possibly because there are so few. But don't fret, it's that time again! After not having updated for way too long, The Dink Smallwood Solutions is back in action! Beuc did an absolutely great job converting the site to SPIP, which means a bunch of new features are on the horizon. The first being out already is the ability for walkthrough authors to submit, review and edit their works at the site itself!

In other not so Dink Smallwood related news, Seth Robinson is working on some super secret new games over at RTSoft. As a test, he imported the original Dink Smallwood map in his fancy new editor. This allowed him to view the map with full zooming capabilities. What? You don't want to visit RTSoft, but do want to see some screenshots? Ok then, enjoy this one and that one then. There's no mention that these games have got anything to do with Dink Smallwood though. But we'll keep up the hope!

Updated D-Mod: Elves of Rathor v1.4
Posted by Tal on Tuesday January 31st, at 05:29 PM
Continuing her updating spree, Carrie has polished up her first D-Mod Elves of Rathor, bumpin' it up to version 1.4. She says there are script alterations, new midi music, true color graphical goodness, and maybe a bit more. Spiffy.

Updated Misc Add-On: Ice Orb Spell v1.02
Posted by redink1 on Tuesday January 31st, at 09:47 PM
The 9 wolves of unparalleled rabidness have updated the Ice Orb Spell to v1.02. This version includes a bug fix for a bug that Tal noticed. It looks like something to do with graphics not loading correctly... or perhaps pickles.

Updated D-Mod: Town of Rakuna v1.10
Posted by redink1 on Tuesday January 31st, at 09:56 PM
Unbeknownst to most, the standard units for land area on the moon is an acclaimed D-Mod author. In fact, Lunacre recently updated his recent D-Mod, Adventures of Dink Smallwood: The Town of Rakuna to v1.10. Thanks to Tal, all spelling mistakes have been fixed, title screen music has been added, and the fountain had a visit from the Orkin man.

New Graphics: Windemere Interface
Posted by redink1 on Tuesday January 31st, at 10:02 PM
Merlin recently sent me the Windemere Interface Graphics that were going to be used for the Windemere project. They were created by Patrick Wood about two years ago, and because the Windemere project has been rebooted, they're now available for all to enjoy (or loathe... whichever you prefer).
