Of Contests
Posted by redink1 on Friday July 2nd, at 12:27 PM
The Vampire D-Mod Contest has been cancelled, because there wasn't a single entry. There's no sense in extending the deadline if no-one even managed to submit even a partial entry.

In retrospect, it wasn't a very good idea for a contest, as the whole 'must drink blood' thing just seemed to confuse people.

There will be another D-Mod contest soon, a *very* quick one that will take about two weeks or so. There will also be a general contest that anyone could win. Any suggestions for prizes?

New D-Mods: The Apprentice; Revenge of the Pillbugs
Posted by Tal on Wednesday July 7th, at 08:50 PM
Praise be to the light! Or whatever. After about two and a half months of waiting, we have new D-Mods.

Lennard Smith presents us with The Apprentice, in which Dink has to team up with the almighty wizard Lennard (how about that ego?) to hold back a goblin attack.

Revenge of the Pillbugs, DuckKiller3's D-Mod... well, I'm not too sure on the story here, but my Incomparable Wisdom of Smartness tells me that it probably involves pillbugs attempting revenge on someone (Dink, maybe?) for something. It may or may not involve lederhosen.

So quench your longing for D-Mods now! And write some kind, informative reviews if you don't mind.

Awards: June 2004 Download of the Month
Posted by redink1 on Sunday July 11th, at 10:14 AM
The June 2004 Download of the Month is now awaiting your vote. Does the Save Game Editor of Justice deserve the DOTM in its unintuitive glory, or do you give the award to no-one? The choice is yours.

New D-Mod: Castle Killers
Posted by redink1 on Sunday July 11th, at 10:19 AM
GameHampe has released Castle Killers. Apparently the King has lost the castle, and Dink has to find it. How do you lose a castle? I don't know. You'll have to play and find out.

New D-Mod: Matoya
Posted by redink1 on Sunday July 11th, at 10:22 AM
Astral has unleashed Matoya upon the unsuspecting masses of the Dink Community. In it, you get to figure out what to do because the great thinker Dink Smallwood... forgot. Yep, the King sent Dink on a mission, but Dink forgot what it was. Hopefully you'll be able to help him, or he'll be running all over the place and talking to trees, being insane with forgetfulness.

New D-Mod: Slimes VS Dink
Posted by redink1 on Sunday July 11th, at 10:25 AM
TA decided that those dang Slimes aren't going to leave poor Dink alone, so we now have Slimes VS Dink. Dink has to collect them all! Er. Kill them all. That's it.

Just thinking, wouldn't Pokemon be a heck of a lot funnier if Ash and co. had to kill all of the Pokemon instead of collecting them? "Squirtle Squirtle!", then blood showering the landscape. That would rock.

Updated D-Mod: Castle Killers v1.1
Posted by Tal on Tuesday July 20th, at 02:56 PM
GameHampe has updated his D-Mod Castle Killers, bringing it up to version 1.1. Apparently some scripting errors have been resolved, and the desert's decoration has been improved.

Updated D-Mod: Matoya v0.02
Posted by Tal on Tuesday July 20th, at 02:58 PM
Matoya, Astral's first D-Mod, has been updated to version 0.02. Balance issues have been addressed, numerous hardness errors were fixed, and various other things were modified/added.

Congratulations to me, as I beat the very serious competitor 'None' with my Save Game Editor of Justice.

In your face, None! You're playing on my turf, now.

New D-Mod: The Ants Demo
Posted by redink1 on Thursday July 22nd, at 03:45 PM
MiloBones joins in the Month of the D-Mods with The Ants Demo. You play Hatman the Ant, as he tries to bring down The Man (or would that be The Ant... hmm).

New File: Mad Midis
Posted by redink1 on Tuesday July 27th, at 02:37 PM
MadStalker has released Mad Midis. Trust me, you don't want to know what happens when a Midi gets Mad. I tried to play one, and my computer started hopping up and down, buzzing angrily, while opening the cd rom drives at random. I ran for my life. Thankfully I don't have that long of a power cord hooked up to it.

Edit: Links and such should work now
