Various News

All apologies for the lack of humorous content today. As luck would have it, our benevolent dictator redink1, aka Dan Walma, was involved in a car accident which has caused him to fall into a coma. There's not too much to worry about, though, for his mother has informed me that it should only last a few weeks. Which is good, of course, especially when you consider that someone else died at the scene (if I remember correctly, his name is Jan).

So, for the foreseeable future, I am the temporary webmaster of the Dink Network. Miasma 3/Generation 9 is obviously delayed, and the laziness factor is upped by a very large percentage.

Also, as previously mentioned, we haven't posted any funny content today, so I thought I'd deliver the best that I can.

"BRING YOUR TOOLS. This home needs you! With the floors dipping and the ceiling sagging, the carpenter in your family needs this home. Great location right on the main highway and back yard partially fenced. Come see how cute this house could be."

New Dev File: DinkC Reference v3.2
Posted by redink1 on Sunday April 4th, at 08:46 PM
SimonK has released the DinkC Reference v3.2, a revised version of Ted Shute's DinkC Reference, but this time in a Windows Help-file format for better organization and layout. It also includes more information, including things related to reDink. Cool.

And for those of you who are curious, no, I'm still in a coma. And it was nice for a while. But then everyone decided to travel to my coma too, and now its almost as if I wasn't in a coma at all. So please, get out, and let me rest.

Dinker's View Nine: The Quest for Bill Szczytko!
Posted by SimonK on Tuesday April 20th, at 06:48 AM
Well, it's taken me a little time, but I've managed to track down one of the ancient DMOD authors. He's not been active in the community for nearly 4 years, and during that time only gave us 2 DMODs, but what DMODS! Both of them are in the top excellent category ...

Head to the comments section for the full interview with the Creator of Dorinthia - Bill Szczytko!

Posted by redink1 on Tuesday April 20th, at 08:39 PM
sjoerdje is going a questin' in the new D-Mod Sjoerds Quest. You play as Sjoerd, who appears in a strange place for no real reason at all, and he must find his way home where he must get around to organizing his banana collection.

*Note: there may or may not be a banana collection.

Awards: March DOTM Starting Soon!
Posted by redink1 on Tuesday April 20th, at 08:49 PM
Howdy folks, and its well past that time of the month again. But don't fear, its just a tad late, and there shan't be any baby Dink Networks toddling around in nine months or so.

The March 2004 Download of the Month greedily awaits your vote. Voting starts in about 3 hours, so come back in a few if the page says 'Voting will begin soon!'. Only two files were released last month, so you don't really have much of a decision to make. But a decision you SHALL make, otherwise I'll have to come to your house and smear an orange peel on your dog's (or cat's) nose in retribution. Beware.

New Dev File: GRRRaphics 1.0
Posted by Tal on Wednesday April 21st, at 05:01 PM
Joshriot smells bad. He has also released GRRRaphics, a compilation of... graphics. Precisely, "a collection of modified graphics from the abandoned projects of one particular slacker." I guess Mr. Kozloski has been hanging out with George Broussard or something like that.

Chat: New Server

As aXpi has been rather unstable lately, and now even appears to be totally inoperative, I've chosen to move the channel to yet another server, the fourth in my time, and welcome you all to join #Dinksmallwood at us.spidernet.org on port 6667!
