: I'm on broadband, and on a good day, I can hit close to 1000 kbps. But I'm in a large Metro area and that doesn't happen too often, but its still a ton faster than dial-up and I'd never go back. I also tried DSL...don't bother with this, my experience is it is no where near as fast as broadband, and it has too much down time.

hmm.. i suspect that would depend on what ISP you are going through, and what teh line quality is like...
