If your father was more Linux-knowledable than me, your household wouldn't have a Windows computer in it, cause the system is so inferior to Linux that keeping it around would be a pest. I seriously doubt that your dad knows more about Linux than I do, but you may feel free to think so.
I'm "insulting" (if you can even call it that) your father because what he does is plain stupid. You're not supposed to install software to "protect" your kids, you're supposed to talk with them and tell them what to do and not to do and trust them. The way you portray it, he just blocks off stuff for no good reason.
