I got a laptop too, recently. It's an MSI. I didn't wanted anything spectacular, because most of the time I surf the web, chat, listen to music, watch music and write simple programs. None of these require great performance. I have one CPU AMD Sempron 3400+(1.8Ghz), 2GB RAM, NVIDIA Geforce Go 6100. I think it's suitable for my needs, and it only costed me about 700$.
