If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
I don't like the option of how you can set deleted messages to on or off. Why don't you just delete the messages and not say the thread is new. Just return it to its previous position on the board. Or even better, close it! Or why not just close all threads which are a year or two old? That would stop a heck of a lot of spam!
