For my literary needs, I like... lots. Agatha Christie mysteries (Hercule Poirot!), Douglas Adams, H.G. Wells, Michael Chricton (dunno if that's how you spell it... the guy who wrote Jurassic Park, my favorite book ever), and my favorite book of the month is Johnny the Homicidal Maniac by Jhonen Vasquez. Actually, it's a comic book, but it's soooo good.
Artists: I love Vincent Van Gogh. I just like his style. I think the funny brush stroke stuff is way awesome. So there you have allikitten's cultural repertoire.
