Just got the phone line put in last year. 
But in all reality, the guy was an old fudger, set in his ways, etc, etc. As the tooth had to be pulled, and I wasn't really in a position at the time to waste a whole day just to get a tooth pulled painlessly, we just scheduled it for the afternoon, and I went home, and got plastered. Probably not the best way to go about it, but such is life.
Btw, I never could figgure out why people are scared off the pain of a root canal: it's really not quite that bad.
