I disagree that releasing the MP3s separately would "destroy the goals" you are attempting to follow. There's no sense in forcing anything on anyone; if they're worried about it, they'll remedy the situation themselves. People can download a separate MP3 pack, install it, and voila. Everything's intact, as you like.
A) Dink is a game from 1997. If you want a "more modern scene", then perhaps you should move on to a more modern game.
B) There are still a lot of people here running on dial-up. A D-Mod filled with MP3s is a hassle for these people.
C) It is not that difficult to find substitute MIDIs.
