: All the walkthroughs and hints available seem to concern the original game, not the freeware, which i gather is different. I've managed to get stuck on the freeware (I know, how sad), not being able to pass 'seth'or go to any of the islands not named on the map (except dragon island).

There are only very, very minor changes between the original game and the freeware version... basically Seth and Mog are easier in the freeware version, and it has some new midis.
You can't get to the island to the east of Windemere that is on the map in the original game either... I assume it was going to be the location of Port Town, but they didn't have enough time to finish it.
As for defeating Seth... try leveling up (killing monsters), getting gold, and buying the best weapons. Good luck!
