It all depends on what you can do. If the landscape is vast but you can do a lot, then it's no problem at all, but if it's just walking a lot of screens to get somewhere...
But if the map is real small, and has no details, then that's a bit boring because you want to see something nice too.
So it's a matter of balance. Now didn't we know that?
