I was lazy, so I simply copied the full text of a e-mail I sent to someone who asked the same question :

You may have noticed that there are several dragon statues near the
fountain. When you talk to one of these dragon statues, it says a letter.
You must hit the dragon statues in a certain order to reveal a secret
compartment in the fountain.

The first line of the riddle is :

"First was he who asked whY"

It means that you must first hit the dragon statue that says 'Y' when you
talk to it. This statue is one screen west from the fountain.

The second line of the riddle is :

"Second was he who could not cRy"

So you must hit the 'R' statue, which is one screen east from the fountain.

To find the last two statues, go one screen north from the fountain. Kill
the dragon shapeshifter.

The third line is :

"The third cam from the North-Western SEA"

So hit the 'C' statue (northwest corner of the room with the dragon
shapeshifter).

The last line is missing, but there's only one statue left, the 'X' statue
(northeast corner of the room with the dragon shapeshifter). Hit it, then go
back to the fountain and look at the spark to find the diamond.
