Yes, there's water too, (hot water too probably). But they aren't really an alternative for water are they?

And the health risks are quite small actually, and that wasn't my main point. (Maybe I shouldn't have added that particular passage, but I came across it when I made my assignment.) And I already said that I don't care that others drink coffee, so scratcher if you like coffee, sure go ahead and drink it. (ruining your life purely means that I can't imagine me drinking coffee, I know that it's a wrong formulation, but it just is a way for me to get my point of view clear)

My main point was that there's a certain attitude to coffee that I don't like. It's as common for someone to say: "hey would you like a cup of coffee?" as it is to say: "hey would you like something to drink?"
This way you're always regarded as being 'different from the rest', just because you don't like coffee. The point isn't that you shouldn't like/drink coffee, just that I hate that mentality.
