If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
My opinion is that SoB is for dinkers that played several DMODs before, and know some things about DMODs. PQ can be played even if you're not a dinker.
I played both using walktroughs and sometimes opening the map with the editor to see some things I couldn't see in the game.
