I don't want to be too cocky and say that staff members have a better sense of judgment than anyone else, but what I'm afraid of, is this:
Review by SuperDinkBoy of Pilgrim's Quest: "this game was the best!! I couldn't stop playing it! it's good! 9.9"
His friend Bobby then rates the review a 9.9, "TEEHEEHEE SuperDinkBoy is my friend that's always right!!"
Blah.
Also, I doubt that many people would care to review reviews anyway, and would instead look at the average review score highly distorted by the crappy reviews.
