So wait, the two mutant guys are different from The Hollow things?
'These things with their pustulant runny sores, twisted and missing limbs, and obscene mutated bodies, avoided and despised by even the hollow ones' - I get a vague idea of what they look like... but what about describing these ones exactly? Say Mr. Left is bent over in a permanent hunch, using one arm to replace a missing leg, and has another arm sprouting out of his back. Something so I can get a clear, vivid image.
What the heck happened to the mutant guys? One minute the narrator is sliding down the hill, and the next he's wretching and throwing up and moaning? Don't the other mutants notice? He was just hiding behind a bush a minute ago. Then he just happens to find some dead bodies, including Berry's? Wouldn't the mutant guys keep them closer to themselves?
Overall: interesting turn of events. Yay sad ending.
I didn't care for the first half too much: slightly interesting, far too expository. The second half was interesting, yet it wasn't clear to me exactly what was going on.
