I downloaded the original Dink Smallwood a couple of years ago, but just discovered you creative dmod developers several months ago. (Thank You!!) My front end now lists fourteen dmods, and I have no social life. 
I'm working on SOB right now, and loving it...but I've come to a point where I'm simply not sure that I can proceed. I'm on story four, punched the guy a few times and he told me where to find the herb boots, but every time I go near the water in that spot I appear to drown (like quicksand with a splash...). There's no mention of anything like this in the walkthrough, I've searched the web and these boards...nothing...and I'm desperate.
Arrg, just thought that I had a brilliant idea and made sure that the scorpion was dead before I tried to walk through the water, and I splashed in and died again.
I'm really looking forward to completing this one, I hope that I'm just being a dufus and I'm in the wrong place or that I missed a crucial step...
