The answer was quite simple actually.
To have a clue, you can edit riddle.c in the lynastory directory and uncomment one line. The author says:
//No, you won't find the answer in here.
//But you can uncomment the next line for a clue.
//&speak = 99;
So change
//&speak = 99;
in
&speak = 99;
And you will have a clue next time you play the game and have the riddle.
