well, though americans are stupid, even I don't think that they're quite that stupid. It's propably just that after being asked "what is the sun?" people get confused and just say "I don't know" though they'd know the answer if they thought about it a little. seriouly, if someone didn't know that the sun was a star, what the hell did he think it was? a planet? a black hole?

EDIT: It's still amazing though.
