What we have here is a bit of a fault in communication, I believe. What you meant to say in your original post, as far as I can tell now, is that you saw no reason - not "there's no idea, heeheehaha" - to eat popcorn because you believe it tastes bad.
And no, you certainly wouldn't be nourishing yourself if you ate a single kernel just to see whether it tastes good or bad, but I do believe you would be eating that very kernel. See, eating is constituted by inserting an article of food into your mouth, chewing or crunching it if necessary, and swallowing it. You have done that with the kernel, so therefore, you have eaten popcorn.
And yes, I am only holding this discussion with you for the fun of it - I hate popcorn, as well.
