: This board is slowly, but surely, falling apart. Increasing numbers of posts are complete rubbish and completely unrelated to Dink. I have done this a couple of times, but stopped because we were all told not to.

: You may decide these are the ramblings of a slightly confuddled (you gotta love that word!) Trout, but others I have spoken (4 off the top of my head, though I won't drag them into this) to completely agree.

: This all seemed to erupt when Redink went away for his holiday. WC was left in charge (I guess) and failed to get a grip on the problems with spamming and flaming : More the former I admit.

: We all waited, and Redink returned. The saviour is here, we thought!! He will banish the spamming and make this a kind, friendly board with an abundance of helpful information.

: But no.

: I don't blame Redink for not having taken any action, as there doesn't seem to be any main culprit, but I wonder what can be done?

: Time for me to get flamed for this post (I should expect, with the way "certain" members of this community have been treating me recently), but before you do, think of my main question as being...

: Has anybody else noticed a considerable drop in the standard of more or less everything at the network recently? Because I have.

Extremely ironic... you recognize that people are posting message board topics that are non-Dink related by posting a non-Dink related message. lmao. True, yours is about the Dink Board, but still...

Well, at least you also recognize you're a contributor to this 'problem', heh.

A couple clarifications before I go on a ranting spree: WC wasn't left in charge when I left: no-one was. Well... Kyle was mostly, because I gave him the passwords to delete messages/posts.

And I have to admit: I didn't read half of the old posts, and none of the staff recommended banning anyone. And I don't think my absence had much of an affect. Things seemed to go rather smoothly.

<rant mode=on>

Last time I checked, the majority of messages on the board are Dink related. It isn't an epidemic. There simply isn't any reason to ban people.

Sure, people are posting nonsense messages occasionally. It isn't anything worse than what I did with my 'Banana!' post a while ago.

If someone keeps posting utter crap and refuses to stop, then banning will probably occur. But as it is, it seems some people aren't familiar with the 'local customs' (like refraining from posting new threads for every little thing) and they'll adjust, and so on.
