Hmmm. I can understand how distressing that must have been for all. I suppose it is a reminder that whatever we may think, the DN (and all online communities really) are rather shallow affairs. We never really get to know people well, but rather the limited projection of self that they want us to see and/or imagine.
To some extent, this is even true of RL of course; there are many way in which we will never know the truths that people hide.
