Agreed. Copy/pasting my answer from the FreeDink mailing list : This is due to an incorrect computation of the screen index in DINK.DAT. Opening and saving the file in a map packer such as WinDinkedit should fix the file size.

I can't reproduce in 109.0 so this oldity from the original Dink seems definitely fixed
