Why wouldn't Bernie and Trump be bought off? As a monolithic evil company, wouldn't you want to pull the strings of a country's "leader" and offer them money to do exactly what you want? They may not really have power, but they do speak for the country as a whole when speaking with other countries.
TPP wouldn't be possible without the control of world leaders after all. In the famous words of OBama: "There's nothing secret about the TPP".

Let's see, help the homeless, donate to actual good causes, random public services, stop evil geniuses from blowing up the moon. Stuff like that. I ain't got no car and I kinda can't since they're monstrously expensive with the base price and upkeep and stuff, but I can always donate and shit without a car.
