If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
Maybe some hackers enter their database and then guess what, you just wasted your dang money, cuz now you got no games, and OHOHOHO they ain't be comin' back, baby!
Again, same with Gog. If you keep your installers around forever, that's fine, but what if you don't or you lose them? Not too much difference.
Another thing that I thought was pretty odd was the fact that the case of that Morrowind GOTY was WHITE plastic, and all other games I have have BLACK plastic cases. I'm not sure If it got anything to do with it, but hey, It's still odd.

EDIT: Maybe the store had a Morrowind copy from Elder Scrolls Anthology put in some random case. Can you even use the key?
