If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
I use LibreOffice, and that seems to work the same way. It cares more about the cursour's position and enter presses than highlighting stuff.
So, if you want to align a single line, you press enter before that line, write the line, and press enter again. Then you place the cursor on that line, and change the alignment. It'll only affect the single line of text.
