Hmm, can Dink even do anything with .pal files? The only use for those I can imagine would be to change the palette when playing the game in 256 colours, but even then, I think that only works with .bmp files.
In other words, those files likely aren't used in the game at all, and were just left over in the dmod folder. It should be fine to play the game despite those errors.
