The bible, regardless of if it is an accurate and truthful text, has many good life lessons in it, some of which has lead mankind to some good and wholesome decisions when applied to life correctly. If you believe in what it states, it offers hope for an admittedly crappy life, if you don't, then it makes at the very least a decent story that is both interesting to read and study.
The best use of the bible is to take the lessons it offers, use them to enhance your life in a way that betters your and other peoples' lives in a positive way. Regardless of belief or lack thereof.
