Tassadar's demise in Starcraft. I'll dodge total spoilers, in the (VERY unlikely) event that someone here has never played Starcraft but intends to. Blizzard managed compelling character death before their WoW-era obsession with killing their entire catalog of major heroes/villains, most by way of loot farming.
Diablo in Diablo II - "NOT EVEN DEATH CAN SAVE YOU FROM ME." Definitely one of the most memorable lines in a game. Also doubles as one of the most hilarious when it more closely resembles "NOT EVEN DEATH- AUUAUAGHGGAHHGGHAHHGHAH ITEM DROP"
And this is a cop-out response, but just about every scene of the first two Monkey Island games, Full Throttle, and Grim Fandango is worth seeing.
