I remember trying this one, and being rather put off that the game felt dated compared to AOE2, despite being years newer. Does it get better?
Dated? it used 3D pologons 2D instead spirtes there before aloowing you to zoom in and out in the game it was one of the first RTS to let you do that.
Not to mention 14 ages (15 in the expansion) rather just playing with caveman you have much more varitey in EE then AOE2
