@Schnapper's comments on ideals. Atheism does not remove ideals (Or morals), it simply allows you to hold your OWN morals as opposed to those of any particular faith. Some 'morals' of faith are awful, such as opposition of homosexuality, but others, like killing each other, are logical and good for society as a whole.
