We are no such thing! All living animals have evolved for exactly as long. Yes we are almost certainly the smartest, and have no natural enemies except microbes... and eachother. Meanwhile, as we war upon amongst ourselves, Argentine Ants have united in a globe-spanning megacolony, crushing other ants before them and annoying the bejesus out of us humans. They even made me miss a flight once (true story).
