Dack, what if I were to make a story that implied that you had gratuitous sex with animals and dead people? Just because it's fiction doesn't mean that you can go wild. There are rules to literature and fiction. Some people, like Stephanie Meyer, break these rules and are widely hated. One such rule is that you don't blatantly insult people with the worst kind of thing. Sure, you can insult a real life person as long as it's subtle. And subtle doesn't mean 'had feelings for' or anything akin to that. It's the way the character acts. There is a major difference between 'attended to (x)'s every need' and 'laid with (x)'.

But, yeah. Don't just make up stuff about people. Get to know about them a little first, then actually tell a partly truthful story about them. In fiction, there has to be some truth.
