I've been wanting to get into it, but I have a feeling I'll just get lost without purpose :/
Hmm, I've always foind that to be the most enjoyable part.
Simple chaotic wandering; pick a direction, find interesting places, stumble upon high level enemies, etc... I also have the tendency of playing the pack rat, but that's incredibly unfun. Just resist the urge to pick up everything, and drop that goddang platemail, even if you could pawn it for thousands in a shop.
