I have met several lads in my life who are bitter and aggressive, people who are typically shunned by society's mainstream and derided by their' peers. Of cause, these people react negatively, as anyone would.
What I realise is that time is a great healer; usually these diamonds in the rough need someone to look past their' "hard b@stard" mask and see that deep down someone is hurting, but everyone else is too judgemental to stop and help... it takes a good Samaritan to change this.
We all have holes in our lives that we try to fill in one way or another. Some try to fill their' voids by pushing others away, or by being radically different etc.
Put yourself in their shoes. You say that they're not really suffering true loss? Too that person, a loss that seems little to you is their whole world, so don't judge others by your' prejudices.
