I've said "insulting opinions" only AFTER I've expressed my opinion calmly. I express my opinion, and the majority of the site goes "That's not the majority's opinion, so it's wrong". I then try to express my opinion better, and the response is the same, even worse this time. After this goes on for a while, I'm bound to get angry, and when I'm angry, I insult others.
By any means, people should have the right to their opinions. But that includes others too, rather than just those who have the same opinion as the majority. But that doesn't seem to be the case here, but rather that the non-majority's opinions and the people themself get run down instantly.
