My picks for the most important and influential Dinkers in the history of Dink:
1) Redink1 - Dink Network, many quality files, v1.08, and generally keeping Dink alive.
2) Wyndo - Before my time but the first DMODer and apparently even coined the term "d-mod"!
3) Nexus (Gary Hertel) - The first DMOD that bested the original game (PotA), WinDinkedit.
4) SimonK - The greatest DMOD author ever.
5) Beuc - FreeDink.
There's of course many, many other Dinkers who have contributed and advanced our little community. My newbie picks are Robj and Iplaydink, but that's more of a reflection of the sort of files I find interesting.
Bill Szczytko is one important Dinker who hasn't been mentioned yet. He was only part of the community for a very short time, but produced two quality epic DMODs (Quest for Dorithia 1 and 2). I think this was somewhere between PotA and SimonK, a period where simply completing the monumental task of producing an epic DMOD automatically made you a Dink giant. (Of course, when SimonK came along he made everyone look small in comparison, and expectations for the quality of DMODs greatly increased.)
