Hello there!

I think you should ask either DaVince or Dinkdude95 about creating midi files... They've discussed it much lately. I think the maximum sequences are 999, not quite sure though.

Creating more D-Mods?
I’m really anxious about your entry to the ‘Rise to power’ contest!

Mate, my website should be stickied.

Anyway, my website has some detailed information about MIDI creation. This page is the specific tutorial.

Oh, and the only way you can turn MP3 into MIDI, is by doing it yourself, by ear, by putting all the notes into a synthesizer. MIDI is just information, basically, that's the simplest way I can put it. Think of MIDI as words, and think of MP3 as actual music. The computer looks at all the numbers and letters in a MIDI, and that means something to your PC. It then spits it all out as music. An MP3 is just sound, and you cannot convert it to a MIDI.

If you want an MP3 as a MIDI, you have to listen to it, and try and put the notes into a synthesizer by yourself.

So, does that make any sense?

I have an idea for a new dmod that would've actually fit perfectly in the rise to power theme. Unfortunately i only got it a couple of days after the 20th... . So i'll just settle for submitting it as a normal dmod. It could take me A LOT of time to get it done so... speaking about the contest, i think ur dmod is gonna b better, marpro, since i got too lazy and waisted A LOT of time so i never had enough time to debug it properly. and in order to finish b4 the due date i had to make the tasks small and..well.. easy, so that takes all the fun away. I'm looking forwards for 'yours' since u've spent 14 days mapping it so it sounds like its gonna b fun, yeah?

Well, take your time. If you ever get stuck with a problem, there's always someone helpful to assist you.

Haha, don't lose faith... I started a D-Mod that just grew! There was no chance that it would have been done in time. I realized this at August 17th. Then I began a new, smaller, for the contest. It was done like one over before the deadline expired.

Anyway, your website looks really nice, Dinkdude! I'm planning to try to make my own midis with that tutorial.

Very nice! And, I'll be looking forward to uploading them, with your permission, if you may? I'm running a little low on submitted MIDIs. Of course, I would make a few myself, but, it doesn't work that way.

An even better description would be to think of MIDI as a music sheet: commands laid out in a row that tell you what note to play at what time (and with which instrument and effects, too).

I just spent a couple hours with Rosegarden and it's pretty nice, although a few things could be more intuitive (like: Ctrl+V pastes where the music edition cursor is, not where you last clicked).

I'm currently recomposing some classical pieces that couldn't be included in the free dink data pack
