So, I've tried to get past the big head after the river thingy, where were those glowing monsters. But, I can't do anything to that big head.

Any help?

From big head go East and read the note then exit from the temple then go to farthest left and talk to the priest.After cutscene go back where head was and the stairs will appear. .
