Problems running/playing Stone of Balance
Stone of Balance

Hopefully SimmonK can help me with these questions.
I downloaded SOB from file planet using the save option to begin the download.
I opened the file and followed the Winzip steps on the Dink help page.
The load screen includeds the rated R warning and the title screen has music and is displayed properly.
I assume the anvil is the start new game. I can't start a new game. If I click on the load game, the green stone it brings up the saved slots from the previous DMOD I was playing, Legend of Tejin.
When I load slot one the game starts in a cave with a large gold or bronze coloured pill bug and lots of slimes. 1 screen south is a save bot. The next screen south is a locked screen with purple bonkas, slimes ect. Not much hope with attack 3 defense 2 and magic 1 or 2 I think.
1 screen west and north there is an ocult type symbol that quits the game if I walk over it.
I looked at the walk through and these screens do not sound like what is described for the start of SOB. Also I have not seen a start up movie if ther is one.
Its as if the DMODs are overlapping or corrupting each other somehow. Like having Dink turn into the a goblin with a sldge hammer every time I attacked with the fist in As Good As Eternity. Is that normal or is this another problem unique to my experience?
My drop down list on the front end for DMODs holds only mystery island, edit and SOB. Is this the case for every one of should the drop down list hold several DMODs?
Also if I try to remove a DMOD using the remove button it does not work and I end up having to go through windows to end the task. Is this normal?

It's not normal for d-mods to overlap like that. I'm afraid you must be extracting them wrong, you're not extracting them all to the same folder are you?
Stone of Balance should be extracted to:
C:\Program Files\Dink Smallwood\StoneOB
(StoneOB is a name I chose, it could be something else, but it must have no spaces and should clearly indicate what d-mod it is.)
If you installed Dink Smallwood to someplace other than the default C:\Program Files\Dink Smallwood you'd have to change that part, but if you're a "turn-key computer user" I imagine that's exactly where you put it.

I believe you are correct Paul I think that is what is happening. Thanks for the tip and the sample file path. I will try extracting it using your sample file path.
Thanks for your help! Dave
