How do you make new graphics? I already know a bit of how to edit them. (mostly only the color) But how do you make complete new ones?

What exactly is there to know? You draw it out using mspaint or some other program and save it as a 256 color bmp, put it in the graphics directory of your dmod, and add the proper ini lines. Or was there something else...?

Something like better programs than paint.

You got me there. Ask around, google it, or something. If your planning on making animated graphics, it'd probably best to make models with a 3d program. This is however complicated, I myself know close to nothing about it. If your trying to make a specific graphic, there are a handful of members that have some kind of skill that could help you if you asked, maybe.

I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to.I guess.
Er.... paint shop pro is okay for small changes, but it can get tedious. Larger changes would probably require the construction of 3d models, so for that... lemme think. I think there's a program called gimp out there you can use, but it's a bit of a steep learning curve.

Mmmm, pizza.
I thought the Gimp was 2D only... Blender is 3D, but also very complex to work with. Anim8or is easier, but has less features.

GraphicsGale is a pretty good image creator/editor. It's more aimed toward pixel art, though. But I think it supports palettes (not much experience with it so I don't know, but I've READ it does). You will need palettes for new Dink graphics to get correct colours.

I think you need to export the palette from the load screen image of the Dink graphics, then import it in every new Dink graphic you will make. This can be done with other programs too, like Photoshop (don't know about the GIMP).

After you've created some nice graphics, look around in the Development part of this site for tutorials on how to get the new graphics in the game.

I recently tried drawing a person using Tux Paint. I'm so useless that it took me more than half an hour to get half of a horridly unrealistic looking person done. It took so long because I had to redraw bits a lot.
