The Dink Network

Another sprite dilemma...

Well well well... having trouble with a dragon now (I'm really finding scripting much easier than mapping and using wde to set stats, but ah well)... faqs and tutorials suggest copying the source files for enemies from the original dink, but I want to have a friendly dragon... Looking at the script, it seems it should be brain 10, b_w200, timing 66, and speed 1... but when I set these in wde I just end up with a flashing, stuck-on-the-spot dragon. Help? Would prefer to keep him in the editor, rather than creating him in a script...if possible.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, but please, keep it simple, I'm just an amateur!

Any fool can use a computer. Many do.
That's because he has hardness. Set his hardness to 1 which is no hardness. He's now stuck in the hardness so he can't move

At least in Dinkedit (dunno if Windinkedit manages to screw this up) you just need to set the dragon's brain to 10, everything else will come automatically. Simeon already anwered your problem, but for a fresh sprite, that's all you need to do.

Firstly thankyou....
And secondly... maybe this is a stupid question... but now that he has no hardness, Dink can walk right through him, which isn't exactly ideal....?

Dink can walk through him, but that's the same with all enemies. You'll just have to get used to it, I'm afraid.

You're right, I guess I just hadn't noticed while playing... I think I'm slightly more picky about my own work.

Thanks guys!
